معرفی
Dr. Martino Malerba is a Senior Lecturer and Senior Research Fellow (DECRA Fellowship) at RMIT University's School of Science within the STEM College. His research focuses on freshwater ecosystems, including natural and artificial wetlands, farm dams, and wastewater lagoons. He investigates carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, and greenhouse gas mitigation through projects like the development of the Pondi sensor for real-time emissions monitoring. His work bridges ecology, engineering, and policy, collaborating with government agencies to advance sustainable practices.
Research Interests: Teal carbon ecosystems, farm dam management, methane emissions reduction, sensor technology, climate action, and freshwater biodiversity. He leads projects funded by ARC DECRA and Alfred Deakin Fellowships, emphasizing practical solutions for agricultural sustainability and climate change.
Notable Achievements: Published over 40 peer-reviewed articles, including high-impact studies on farm dam fencing effects and methane emissions. Developed the Pondi logger for GHG monitoring. Consulted on national carbon inventories and wetland restoration policies. Supervises postgraduate research in water quality and agricultural systems.
