Martina Testori is a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the Department of Methodology and currently holds a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her research focuses on computational social science, exploring how information (e.g., gossip, reputation) and interventions influence cooperative and sustainable behaviors in groups and communities. She employs experimental methods and agent-based modelling to analyze dynamics at individual and collective levels.
Martina completed her PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of Southampton in 2020. Her work bridges disciplines such as social psychology, game theory, and computational modelling to address challenges in cooperation and sustainability.
Her research interests include sustainable development, social dilemmas, and the role of reputation systems in fostering cooperation. She has contributed to understanding how prosocially motivated gossip promotes cooperation, the evolutionary advantages of risk-seeking behaviors, and the impact of psychopathic traits on group dynamics.
Martina has published in prestigious journals such as Scientific Reports, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B, and PLOS ONE, focusing on topics ranging from networked cooperation to formal trust models.
