Martin Sunnqvist is a Professor and Associate Professor at the Department of Law, Lund University. He holds concurrent roles as Researcher in Public Law, Human Rights Law, and Dispute Resolution, and serves as Research Coordinator for Legal History. He is a member of the LU Profile Area: Human Rights and chairs the Research Committee. His primary research focuses on comparative legal history, constitutional legal history, procedural law, and the history of legal symbols.
His work addresses themes such as judicial independence, rule of law, the history of judging, and legal iconography. He teaches comparative legal history and civil procedural law. Notably, he has contributed to projects like Oaths and Courts – from Forum to the Future and Rättens historia i Sverige.
