Martin Scott is a Professor of Media & Development at the School of Global Development, University of East Anglia. His research focuses on media freedom, humanitarian journalism, and the role of media in global development. He holds a PhD in Media and Distant Suffering from UEA, alongside MA and BA degrees in related fields. His work bridges academic research and practical impact, with grants from AHRC, ESRC, and the British Academy. He co-authored influential books like Humanitarian Journalists (2022) and Capturing News, Capturing Democracy (2024).
