معرفی
Martin Priest is the Dean of Faculty and Professor of Tribology at the University of Bradford, leading the School of Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering & Digital Technologies. He previously held the Jost Chair of Engineering Tribology at the University of Leeds from 1987 to 2015. His expertise spans tribology, friction, lubrication, and wear, with a focus on engine efficiency and polymer tribology. He is a Chartered Engineer and holds prestigious fellowships from IMechE, IOM3, and STLE.
Education: Prior to his roles at Bradford and Leeds, his academic background includes extensive industrial consulting and research in tribology. His work emphasizes sustainable engineering solutions and has been funded by UK research councils, the EU, and industry partners.
Research Interests: Fundamental lubrication studies, tribology applications in engine design, polymer tribology, and the impact of lubricant degradation. His work bridges experimental and computational methods to improve mechanical system reliability.
Awards: Recipient of the 2015 Tribology Silver Medal and Fellow of STLE, one of only four in the UK since 1971. His contributions have been recognized through editorial roles in journals like Tribology Transactions and Journal of Engineering Tribology.
Advising & Grants: Leads interdisciplinary projects in engine tribology and sustainable materials. His funding track record includes collaborative industry-academia initiatives.
Labs & Teams: Active in Bradford’s engineering research groups, focusing on advanced tribology testing and engine efficiency. Collaborates internationally through the Leeds-Lyon Symposia on Tribology.
