Martin Lupton is the Vice-Dean (Education) of the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London and a Clinical Associate Professor. He is also a consultant obstetrician at Chelsea and Westminster Foundation NHS Trust. His roles include leadership in medical education, curriculum development, and governance. He previously held positions such as Head of Undergraduate Medicine and Deputy Director of Education. Martin has contributed to establishing the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine in Singapore and spearheaded initiatives like the Imperial College School of Medicine’s curriculum review, digital education office, and improved student diversity.
Education: Qualified from University College Medical School London. Advanced training in Medical Law, Ethics, and Medical Education.
Research & Contributions: Focuses on Public Health, Health Services, and Medical Education. Led reforms to enhance curriculum engagement with primary care, tripled NSS scores for ICSM, and expanded access for students from underrepresented backgrounds. Established a Medical Education Research Hub.
Additional Roles: Non-executive director in healthcare collaboratives, former Chair of the Ethics Committee for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and clinical lead for maternal medicine services.
