Srdjan Saso is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London’s Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction, and a Consultant Gynaecologist at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital (Imperial College NHS Trust). He holds affiliations with the CRUK Convergence Science Centre and the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. His roles include Principal Investigator for the UK’s first human uterine transplantation trial and membership in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Dr. Saso’s education includes a BSc, MBBS, PhD from Imperial College London, alongside professional certifications (MRCS, MRCOG, DIPM). His research focuses on gynaecological surgery, fertility preservation, uterine transplantation, and AI-driven diagnostic tools in gynaecology. Notable projects include a machine learning model for ovarian mass diagnosis and a point-of-care diagnostic tool for ovarian cancer risk assessment (funded by Wellbeing of Women).
His research interests span biomedical engineering applications in gynaecology, such as biomaterials for endometrial regeneration, and the ethical implications of uterus transplantation. He has led or collaborated on studies involving ovarian cancer imaging, telemedicine post-pandemic, and fertility preservation outcomes in cancer patients.
