Dr. Martin Joh. Meyer is a part-time lecturer at the Institute for Social Work, Applied Psychology and Sports Science (ISPS) at the University of Vechta, specializing in martial arts pedagogy. He focuses on didactic approaches in combat sports, psychological/sociological motivations of practitioners, and media representations of martial arts.
His research bridges empirical educational studies with sports science, covering topics like risk in combat sports, martial arts films, and digital education. He developed the Six-Attribute Model for martial arts classification and initiated the JoMAR eJournal.
