Laura Naegele

Laura Naegele is an Assistant Professor for Employment and Education in Higher Age at the Technical University of Dortmund and a Junior Research Group Leader at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB). She leads the research group BeKomIng Digital, examining digitalization and demographic ageing in vocational training for older workers. She was appointed to the German government's 10th Commission on the Aging Report focused on education in later life.

Education:

• Doctorate in Gerontology from University of Vechta
• Sociology and Media Science studies at Universities of Cologne and Bochum
• Sociology/European Societies at Free University of Berlin

Research Focus: Explores lifelong learning, skills development for aging workforces, digital education accessibility, age discrimination mitigation, and comparative labor policies. Co-founded the #IchBinHannelore Project combating ageism in academia.

Leadership: Heads the BeKomIng Digital research initiative at BIBB investigating technology-enhanced vocational training for older adults.
