Martin Friesl

Prof. Dr. Martin Friesl holds the Chair of Strategy and Organization at the University of Bamberg's Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, with adjunct appointments at NHH Norwegian School of Economics. His research focuses on strategic transformation processes across organizations.

Professor Friesl's current projects examine strategy-identity dynamics, disruptive technologies in pharmaceuticals, synergy implementation in M&A, niche dependency in IT sectors, and business restructuring in chemical industries. His conceptual frameworks include capability development, organizational decline/turnaround, and strategy-as-practice approaches.

With prior experience at Lancaster University Management School and Siemens AG, Professor Friesl maintains active industry engagement. He serves as Associate Editor for the International Journal of Management Reviews and contributes to strategic management societies globally.
