Martin Downes is Associate Professor in Health Group Research at Griffith University, specializing in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and health economics. He leads the HTA team at the Centre for Applied Health Economics (CAHE).
His research spans genetic screening economics, interventions for homeless populations, and evaluation of health technologies. Current projects include nationwide genetic carrier screening assessments and studies on improving vaccination rates among homeless communities.
Recent publications examine cost-effectiveness of genetic therapies, menopausal treatments, and healthcare access for vulnerable populations.
