Martin Dobrow is a Professor of Communications at Springfield College since 1999, affiliated with the School of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Literature, Writing, and Journalism. He advises the student newspaper and coordinates communications/sports journalism internships.
Education: Master of Arts from University of Massachusetts Amherst (1989); Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University (1983).
Research focuses on civil rights, social justice, and sports journalism. Notable works include two books (with a third on civil rights) and articles in Triangle magazine and ESPN.com. His writing explores figures like MLK Jr., Tuskegee Airman Roscoe Brown, and Olympian Tom Waddell, emphasizing ethical journalism and societal impact.
Awards include six recognitions in the Best American Sports Writing series. Courses taught include Journalism Ethics, Sports Writing, and 'Journalist as Hero/Villain.'
