Dr. Martin Bürgin is a Lecturer at the Religious Studies Seminar of the Faculty of Theology, University of Zurich, and a Research Associate at the Chair of General Church History and History of Old Catholicism, University of Bern. His work bridges religious studies, political science, and game studies, focusing on the conceptualization of religion in video games and the interplay between analog and digital spheres in religious-political contexts.
- Co-leader of the UZH Teaching Fund (ULF)-funded project "Religion in Video Games"
- Host and curator of the "royalscandalcinema" series on film scandals
Research Interests:
- Narrative, visual, and ludic enactments of religious history in video games
- Religion, politics, and digital media
- Didactic applications of video game essays for assessment
