Martin Bugeja

Prof. Martin Bugeja is a Professor of Accounting at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Business School, leading the Accounting Discipline Group. Previously, he served as Discipline Group Head (2015-2018) and held roles at the University of Sydney and in banking. His research focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, director compensation, and intangible assets. He currently serves as Deputy Editor of Accounting and Finance and sits on editorial boards for several journals. His work has been funded by ARC grants, CIFR, and AFAANZ. Key contributions include studies on takeover disclosures, shareholder voting mechanisms, and governance accountability. Prof. Bugeja teaches intermediate and advanced financial accounting and supervises postgraduate research.
