Prof. Martin Balleer is a lecturer in insurance science at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen's Faculty of Business and Economics. He holds a PhD from the University of Zurich and has extensive industry experience, including 27 years on the board of Gothaer Versicherungen, specializing in life insurance, risk management, and actuarial technology. He has been a pivotal figure in actuarial governance, serving as chairman of the German Actuarial Association (DAV) and on the Executive Committee of the International Actuarial Association (IAA). Since 2003, he co-directs the German Actuarial Academy and chairs the advisory board of the European Actuarial Academy (EAA).
