Martijn J.R. Heck

Martijn J.R. Heck is Full Professor in Photonic Integration at Eindhoven University of Technology. His research focuses on photonic integrated circuits for applications in sensors, quantum technology, microwave photonics, and interconnects. He founded the Photonic Integrated Circuits group at Aarhus University.

Key contributions include pioneering work on the JePPIX European photonics platform, hybrid silicon technology, and ultra-low loss waveguides. He co-leads the PICOSTAR project and contributes to the Indium-Phosphide Pilot Line initiative. Academic background includes a PhD from TU/e and postdoctoral research at UC Santa Barbara.
