Martha Reeves is a Professor of the Practice of Sociology at Duke University's Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, serving since 2017. She also directs the Markets and Management Certificate Program. Holding a Ph.D. in Human Resources Management from Keele University (UK, 1999), her expertise spans marketing, gender studies, and global business with a focus on Sri Lanka, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. She has authored influential books like Women in Business and Suppressed, Forced Out and Fired.
Her research explores gender dynamics in leadership, supply chain challenges in emerging markets, and microfinance innovations. Reeves teaches courses such as Markets and Management Capstone, International Business, and Sociology of Marketing. She has led DukeEngage programs in Guatemala and Antigua, emphasizing social entrepreneurship in rural communities.
Reeves' professional activities include presentations on work-life balance programs in corporations and leadership in Fortune 500 firms. Her work bridges academic research with practical solutions in global development and organizational behavior.
