Dr. Martha Paisi is a Senior Research Fellow in Public Health at the University of Plymouth's School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Research Lead at Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise (PDSE). She holds an honorary academic contract with the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities and is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Peninsula Dental School. Her work focuses on reducing health inequities through research on vulnerable populations, including homeless individuals, refugees, and care-experienced youth. She leads projects addressing oral health access and trauma-informed care provision.

Research Interests: Martha investigates social determinants of health, prioritizing marginalized groups such as asylum seekers, autistic children, and those with severe and multiple disadvantage. She advocates for multidisciplinary approaches to integrate care systems and improve health equity. Her work has informed novel dental care pathways for vulnerable populations.
Teaching & Supervision: She teaches interprofessional engagement modules at the Faculty of Health and supervises PhD/postdoctoral research projects.
