Martha Dirks serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montreal, based at CHU Sainte-Justine in Montreal. She holds key roles including membership on the gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition residency/fellowship committee, leadership of the endoscopy suite and video capsule program, and participation in the Operating Room Functional Unit (ORFU).
Her research centers on pediatric gastrointestinal disorders with specialized expertise in video capsule endoscopy (Pillcam) for small intestine assessment. She actively investigates diagnostic applications for Crohn's disease management and celiac disease, while developing quality improvement protocols for pediatric endoscopy procedures.
