Marta Rosas

Marta Rosas is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and a Researcher at the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law (CEID). She completed her PhD in Law in January 2023 and earned her Law Degree from the Porto School of Law in 2006. Her academic career is closely tied to Universidade Católica Portuguesa where she has been actively involved in research and teaching.

Marta Rosas specializes in Civil Law with particular focus on autonomy, succession, and protection of vulnerable adults. She has published extensively on civil code provisions, particularly regarding articles 138-140 which deal with accompaniment regimes, judicial decisions, and objectives of these legal mechanisms. Her work bridges theoretical legal frameworks with practical applications in estate planning and protection of persons with disabilities.

Her recent publications reveal a strong focus on contemporary challenges in civil law, especially concerning new assets, succession planning, and legal protections for vulnerable populations. The trend shows increasing attention to autonomy-based solutions rather than traditional guardianship models, reflecting broader shifts in European civil law approaches to disability and vulnerability.

Her research activities are primarily conducted through the Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law where she contributes to advancing civil law scholarship.
