Marta Kolankiewicz is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Studies at the Department of Gender Studies, Lund University. She holds a PhD in Sociology from Lund University (2015) and has been actively engaged in teaching and research since then. Her roles include Programme Director for the Social Studies of Gender Master Programme and membership in LU's Human Rights Profile Area. She is affiliated with several academic collectives, including the Critical Methodologies Collective and Nordic Research Collective for Critical Racism Studies.
- Education: PhD in Sociology (Lund University, 2015)
- Key Roles: Director of First and Second Cycle Studies, Editor of Tidskrift för genusvetenskap, and Principal Investigator in projects funded by the Swedish Research Council.
Research Interests: Focus on law as a tool for social justice, antiracist activism, feminist methodologies, postcolonial theories, and reproductive justice. Her work critically examines the intersection of law, racism, and gender, particularly in contexts like anti-Muslim racism and border policies.
Publications: Over 39 publications, including books like Anti-Muslim Racism on Trial (2019) and edited volumes on feminist research methods. Recent work explores legal strategies in antiracist movements and the impact of anti-gender mobilizations on reproductive rights.
Grants and Projects: Current projects include studies on gender struggles in the 21st century and legal contestations against racism. Past projects analyzed court cases involving racism and migration.
