معرفی
Martin Hultman is an Associate Professor at Chalmers University of Technology conducting interdisciplinary research on climate inaction, energy transitions, and environmental governance. He leads three research groups analyzing 'masculinities and energy,' 'rights of nature,' and 'climate change denial,' while directing the global Center for Studies of Climate Change Denial (CEFORCED) and contributing to the international Empower All project.
His research critically examines societal barriers to climate action through lenses of gender dynamics, political obstruction, and legal frameworks. Hultman's work reveals how industrial masculinities reinforce climate denial, how rights-of-nature approaches challenge anthropocentric legal systems, and how far-right movements weaponize anti-establishment rhetoric against climate science. His interdisciplinary methodology combines environmental sociology, feminist theory, and policy analysis to unpack the socio-cultural roots of climate inaction.
Recent publications demonstrate intensifying focus on climate obstruction typologies (denial/delay/inaction) and ecological masculinities as counter-narratives to the 'Manthropocene.' His 2024 work analyzes Swedish climate policy contradictions within the 'green welfare state' framework and documents rising climate denial in Nordic far-right media ecosystems.
