Marta Kindler

Marta Kindler serves as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Social and Cultural Rehabilitation, University of Warsaw, with collaborative ties to the University of Warsaw's Center for Migration Research.

She earned her PhD in Cultural Studies from the European University Viadrina, establishing her academic foundation in critical migration analysis.

Her research centers on migration dynamics, specializing in social network structures within migrant communities, gendered labor experiences, and Eastern European migration patterns. She investigates how Ukrainian migrants navigate domestic work sectors in Warsaw while examining broader EU migration frameworks through sociological and gender lenses.

Her publications reveal consistent focus on Ukrainian migration trajectories, with monographs analyzing domestic work risks (2011) and EU integration lessons (2016). These works demonstrate methodological rigor in qualitative migration research and policy-relevant scholarship bridging Eastern and Western European contexts.

She actively contributes to international migration discourse as board member of the IMISCOE Standing Committee on Reflexive Migration Studies, advancing methodological innovation in migration scholarship through institutional leadership.
