Marta Bobo Arce

Marta Bobo Arce is a Professor at the University of A Coruña in the Faculty of Sports Sciences and Physical Education Department of Physical and Sports Education. Her academic roles include membership in the Faculty Board and leadership as Director of Sports in the Vice-Rectorate for Dissemination, Culture, and Sport (since 2020). She actively participates in the "Educación, salud y actividad física: estudios de género" research group, focusing on gender equality in sports and physical activity.

Her teaching responsibilities include compulsory subjects such as Physical Expression and Dance and Final Year Dissertation in the Sports Science and Physical Activity Degree. She has directed over 15 theses and EOG works since 2013, including studies on body image perception in gymnasts and strategies to promote women's rugby.

Her research explores gender dynamics in sports performance, rhythmic gymnastics technique evaluation, and barriers to physical activity. Notable projects include the RED UNIVERSITARIA DE MENTORÍA DUAL PARA ESTUDIANTES DEPORTISTAS (2024) funded by the Consejo Superior de Deportes. Her work also addresses policy initiatives to increase female participation in sports through university programs.

Administratively, she has held roles such as President of the Cultural Extension Commission (since 2013) and member of the Quality Management Committee. Her contributions span academic governance, sports promotion, and gender equity in higher education.
