Marshall A Haning serves as Acting Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs and Associate Professor of Music Education at the University of Florida College of the Arts. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in choral music education, research methods, and related topics. He holds degrees from Case Western Reserve University, University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, and Kent State University.
His research focuses on:
- Music education and teacher education curricula
- Informal/nonformal music education approaches
- Nonperformance music courses
- Assessment methodologies in music education
Dr. Haning chairs the Symposia on Assessment in Music Education and convenes the Assessment Special Interest Group for the International Society for Music Education. He maintains active involvement as a choral clinician and adjudicator globally.
