Marlene Sandlund is a Professor at the Department of Community Medicine and Rehabilitation, Section of Physiotherapy, at Umeå University. Her research focuses on developing innovative digital solutions to enhance strength and balance exercises for older adults, aiming to reduce fall risks through co-creation methodologies. She leads the Digital Fall Prevention group and has developed the 'Safe Step' app, evaluated via randomized controlled trials, now undergoing municipal implementation. Collaborative projects include 'BalansPeppen' for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
