Marlene Andresen is a Doctoral Research Fellow in Comparative Literature at the University of Oslo's Department of Literature, Area Studies and European Languages. She holds an M.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of Oslo and a B.A. (Hons) in English from Falmouth University, UK.
Her research examines literary representations of childhood, borders, and hospitality in modernist texts through frameworks including cognitive poetics, narratology, and border studies. She participates in the Border Readings research group and Literature, Cognition and Emotions initiative.
Publications analyze paradoxes of hospitality in Tove Jansson's Moomin series and representations of childhood consciousness in Katherine Mansfield's works. Her research investigates cognitive and emotional dimensions of literary interpretation.
