Marlena Plavšić

Marlena Plavšić is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, Juraj Dobrila University in Pula, Croatia. She holds a PhD in Psychology and is affiliated with the Department of Teacher Education and Foreign Languages. Her teaching spans undergraduate and graduate courses in developmental psychology, educational psychology, human rights education, and music psychology.

Plavšić’s research focuses on educational psychology, developmental psychology, and human rights, with notable projects on music’s cognitive-emotional impacts in education and historical studies of mental health. She has collaborated with institutions like the Global Network of Psychologists for Human Rights and the Istrian Psychological Society.

Her awards include the Zoran Bujas Psychology Award (2021) for contributions to Croatian psychological publishing and the 'Marulić: Fiat Psychologia' recognition (2018) for applied psychology work. She has published extensively on music pedagogy, teacher competencies, and historical mental health, with over 30 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
