معرفی
Prof. Markus Ullsperger is a Professor of Neuropsychology at the Institute of Psychology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. His primary research focuses on cognitive control mechanisms, decision-making, and neural processes underlying performance monitoring. He leads projects funded by DFG and EU, including studies on sleep deprivation’s impact on cognitive resources and the role of the medial frontal cortex in adaptive behavior.
Recent projects include ERC-funded MEDICODE exploring the medial frontal cortex’s anatomy and connectivity, and SFB 1436 investigating resource restoration post-sleep deprivation. His work integrates EEG, fMRI, and computational modeling to decode neural signals related to learning and decision dynamics. Notable collaborations involve interdisciplinary teams studying habenula function in mood disorders and deep brain stimulation effects in OCD patients.
Publications span cognitive neuroscience, psychophysiology, and clinical applications. He advises doctoral students in RTG 2413 (SynAGE) and MEDICODE consortia, focusing on synaptic aging and cognitive decline mechanisms. His lab explores cholinergic modulation, dopamine pathways, and translational models of neurobehavioral disorders.
