Markus Schmid

Prof. Markus Schmid is a Professor of Corporate Finance at the School of Business and Economics (SBF-HSG) at the University of St. Gallen. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Basel and has held positions at leading institutions including the University of Mannheim and New York University. His research focuses on Empirical Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, and Household Finance, with particular emphasis on ESG and Sustainable Finance. He has published extensively in top journals and serves on editorial boards such as Management Review Quarterly and Financial Markets and Portfolio Management.
