Markus Frischhut is a Jean Monnet Professor of EU Law and Ethics, and Head of the Department of EU Law at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI). He holds dual roles as a professor at the University of Bologna and has led various Jean Monnet Chairs focusing on EU values and digitalization since 2013. His expertise spans EU law, European health law, ethics, and digital governance. Frischhut has held visiting fellowships at institutions like Kingston University London and has contributed to numerous editorial boards, including the European Journal of Health Law. His research emphasizes the ethical dimensions of EU policies, particularly in healthcare and digital innovation.
Education includes a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Innsbruck and an LL.M. in European Law. He has taught at leading universities globally, including Kyung Hee University and the University of Innsbruck, and advised on EU health law through roles like TAIEX Expert. Notable awards include the Dr. Otto Seibert Prize (2003) for scientific contributions.
Frischhut’s work bridges law, ethics, and policy, addressing challenges like patient mobility, AI governance, and cross-border healthcare. He actively participates in global forums, advocating for EU values in emerging technologies and public health crises.
