Markus Dertwinkel-Kalt is a Professor of Behavioral and Digital Economics at the University of Münster, affiliated with the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods (MPI Bonn) and the University of Cologne. His research focuses on behavioral economics, industrial organization, and antitrust policy. He has held roles such as Director of Sustainability and Chair of the Ethics Committee at his institution.
Education includes a PhD in Economics and a Master’s thesis in algebraic topology. His work combines experimental methods with theoretical models to study decision-making under uncertainty, market regulation, and policy design. Notable contributions include analyses of energy crisis behavior, merger remedies, and consumer salience effects.
