Prof. Mark van Vugt is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences, Department of Organizational Psychology, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He also holds a Full Professorship at IBBA. His research focuses on evolutionary psychology, leadership dynamics, and social behavior, with contributions to understanding intergroup conflict, charismatic leadership, and hybrid work environments. He has supervised 20 PhD theses and contributed to 167 publications. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to reducing inequalities and promoting peace.
Research interests include evolutionary mismatch theory, leadership evolution, and social psychology.
