Mark d’Inverno

Mark d’Inverno is a Professor of Computer Science at Goldsmiths, University of London, and holds visiting roles at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (Barcelona). He has served in senior academic leadership positions, including Pro-Warden roles overseeing international strategies and research initiatives. His work bridges AI with creativity, music, and education, leading interdisciplinary projects funded by EPSRC, AHRC, and the EU. He has supervised 12 PhD candidates and contributed to over 200 publications (books, chapters, papers, and conference presentations).

Research focuses on AI ethics, creative agency, and music technology. Notable achievements include chairing major research committees (EPSRC, HKUGC) and the PRAISE project’s 'excellent' EU rating. Public engagements include BBC TV/Radio appearances and consultancy for AI-informed cultural projects like Sky Arts’ *The Computer says Show* (2016).
