Mark White is a Senior Professor of Guitar at Berklee College of Music, recognized internationally as a jazz guitarist, educator, and session musician. He has performed globally with ensembles like George Russell's Living Time Orchestra and the Ken Hadley Big Band, and his studio/production credits include recordings for Blue Note, King Records, and Grescotmar Ltd.
- B.A. and Master's degree in Music from the New England Conservatory
- Studied with Joe Negri, Joe Pass, Charlie Banacos
His research interests focus on jazz guitar pedagogy, improvisation, and ensemble performance. He has authored four books, including Advanced Reading Etudes for Guitar and Jazz Guitar Fretboard Navigation - From Bach to Bebop, and pioneered interactive digital learning tools for guitar education.
White leads the Mark White Octet, a jazz ensemble dedicated to preserving and innovating the legacy of Dave Pell's West Coast jazz arrangements. The group features members from leading New England institutions and blends historical charts with new compositions.
