Mark Stobbart is a Senior Teaching Fellow at the University of Surrey within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, School of Health Sciences. He currently serves as Director of Studies for the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice programme (appointed October 2022) and previously held the same role for BSc (Hons) and MSc Healthcare Practice programmes, alongside serving as Paramedic Field Lead until 2018.
His educational qualifications include:
- PGCert in Education for Professional Practice (2018), University of Surrey
- MSc in Advanced Paramedic Practice (Critical Care) (2013), University of Hertfordshire
- BSc (Hons) in Health Sciences and Social Policy (1997)
His research and teaching focuses on clinical assessment methodologies, critical care paramedicine, airway management, resuscitation protocols, and professional development frameworks. These interests stem from his 25+ years of paramedic service including West Midlands Ambulance Service (1998-2007) and South East Coast Ambulance Service (2007-present), where he qualified as a Critical Care Paramedic in 2008.
Within the university, Mark actively contributes to:
