Mark Steer

Associate Professor Mark Steer is a practical conservation biologist affiliated with the Department of Applied Sciences at the University of the West of England. He collaborates with organizations including Somerset Wildlife Trust, Bristol Water, and Muufri.

• Research Focus: Landscape scale conservation, species reintroduction, habitat restoration, and genetic survey techniques
• Teaching: Leads MSc in Advanced Wildlife Conservation in Practice, teaches BSc Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Science and BSc Environmental Science

Expertise includes eDNA techniques, camera trapping, ecological impacts of species reintroductions, and new technologies in land use monitoring.
