Mark Schweda

Prof. Dr. Mark Schweda heads the Department of Medical Ethics at the Department of Health Services Research, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. Previously, he held research positions at the University Medical Center Göttingen (2006–2018), Lichtenberg-Kolleg Göttingen (2014–2015), and institutions including UC Berkeley and Lancaster University. His academic credentials include a habilitation in Ethics and History of Medicine (Göttingen, 2015) and a PhD from Humboldt University Berlin (2012).

Schweda's research critically examines ethical dimensions of aging, dementia, and healthcare technologies. Key themes include:
