Dr. Mark Sandle is a Professor of History at The King's University, specializing in Russian/Soviet and Modern European History. His research focuses on the Soviet period, WWII, and the intersection of faith and history. He is currently working on a new history of WWII emphasizing human experiences like resilience and solidarity, as well as a collaborative book A Time for Everything: Christian Faith and the Practice of History.
His recent projects include researching partisan movements in Soviet Moldavia (1941–1944) and exploring pedagogical approaches to assessment and feedback in higher education. He advocates for innovative teaching methods, including Moodle-based learning tools.
Dr. Sandle has authored notable publications such as Brezhnev Reconsidered (2002) and Communism (2006). He received the prestigious National Teaching Fellowship in 2007 for excellence in teaching.
