Mark Sanders is the EDIE Program Director and a Distinguished Service Professor at Carnegie Mellon University's Integrated Innovation Institute (iii). He holds expertise in deeptech innovation, circular economy, and startup strategy, with a focus on leveraging technology for societal impact. Prior roles include Gemini Chair in Engineering Entrepreneurship at the University of Minnesota, Deputy Director of the Austin Technology Incubator, and founder of an environmental remediation company.

- MS and BS in Architectural Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin
Research & Initiatives: Sanders pioneered programs such as an undergraduate entrepreneurship minor, a student startup accelerator, and co-founded the Minnesota Cleantech Consortium. His work emphasizes sustainability, technology commercialization, and fostering innovation ecosystems. He has contributed to Berkeley Lab’s Lab-to-Market program and supports scalable solutions for cleantech industries.
