Mark Pingle is a Professor of Economics and holds the E.L. Cord Endowed Professorship in Entrepreneurship at the University of Nevada, Reno’s College of Business. He has a joint appointment in the Department of Economics and the entrepreneurship program. His research focuses on behavioral economics, experimental economics, macroeconomics, and entrepreneurship. He previously served as Chair of the Department of Economics and president of the International Society for the Advancement of Behavioral Economics.

His recent research explores topics such as religion’s role in decision-making, private monetary systems, and the interplay between patience and decisiveness in economic behavior. Dr. Pingle’s efforts extend beyond academia: he spearheaded UNR’s entrepreneurship program and founded Entrepreneurship Nevada to foster economic development in Northern Nevada. His work bridges theoretical economics with practical community engagement.
