JT Stark

JT Stark is an EMBA, MSBA, and Information Systems Instructor at the University of Nevada, Reno’s College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Data Science from UNR (2024), a Dual-Master’s in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems from Colorado State University (2015), and a Bachelor’s in Education from UNR (2013).

His expertise spans predictive analytics, early warning systems, and leveraging data science to improve educational outcomes. He leads the Data Advisory Group as Data Chair, coordinating 50+ experts to promote responsible data use in non-profits, and serves as a Strategic Data Project Fellow at Harvard University’s Center for Education Policy Research (2024–2026).

Since 2015, he has taught courses including IS 101, IS 201, BADM 750, and BAN 705. His work bridges academia and practice, focusing on data-driven decision-making in education and tech. He previously spent a decade in tech project management (2004–2014) and later supported Reno’s K-12 schools in enhancing educational outcomes through data analytics.

Awards include his Harvard fellowship, recognized for advancing actionable data strategies in public education.

He advises through his roles in the College of Business and Data Advisory Group, contributing to grants and initiatives that integrate technology and education. His lab/team collaborations emphasize early warning systems and process automation in non-profit and educational sectors.
