Mark Lucherini is a Teaching Fellow at the Usher Institute within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. His work focuses on inclusive educational practices, particularly for neurodiverse learners in higher education.
His research interests span Higher Education, Educational Psychology, Neurodiversity, Autism Studies, Qualitative Research, and Inclusive Pedagogy. He employs qualitative methodologies, including reflexive thematic analysis, to explore cognitive processes and self-perception among autistic students in higher education settings.
His recent publication analyzes the experiences of autistic geoscience students in the UK to develop evidence-based inclusive teaching strategies. This work emphasizes amplifying autistic student voices and addresses interdisciplinary challenges in creating accessible learning environments across STEM disciplines.
