معرفی
Mark Larance is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney, based in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences and the Charles Perkins Centre. His research focuses on metabolic disease mechanisms, proteomics, and the effects of intermittent fasting. He holds a PhD in biochemistry from UNSW (2007) and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Dundee, Scotland. Key awards include the Royal Society of Edinburgh Fellowship (2013) and the Cancer Institute NSW Future Research Leader fellowship (2016).
Research Interests: Obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, healthy ageing, and proteomic analysis of metabolic pathways. His lab investigates protein modifications like O-fucosylation and develops mass spectrometry-based methods for studying biological systems. Current projects include understanding the role of intermittent fasting in metabolic health and characterizing novel peptide hormones.
- Grants: NHMRC Ideas Grant (2020), EMCR Emerging Star Funding (2022)
- Lab Members: Benjamin EBERAND (PhD), Catherine ZHANG (PhD)
- Labs/Teams: Larance Lab (specializing in proteomics and metabolic disease research)
Publications highlight advancements in proteomic analysis of fasting responses, cardiac metabolism, and SARS-CoV-2 antiviral peptides. His work bridges basic science and translational medicine, with a focus on precision approaches for metabolic disorders.
