Professor Mark Hull is a Clinician Scientist and Consultant Gastroenterologist at the University of Leeds, holding the position of Professor of Molecular Gastroenterology within the School of Medicine. His research focuses on colorectal cancer prevention, chemoprevention, nutrition, and obesity-related cancer risk. He leads major clinical trials including the EMT2 trial investigating eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) treatment for colorectal cancer liver metastasis.
Education:
- BA (Hons) in Biochemistry, University of Cambridge
- BM BCh (Medicine), University of Oxford
- PhD in gastric ulcer healing cell biology, University of Nottingham
Research Interests: Molecular mechanisms of colorectal carcinogenesis, translational cancer research methodologies, omega-3 fatty acid (EPA) anti-cancer activity, and obesity-cancer risk linkages. His lab employs molecular biology, biomarker studies, and Phase III clinical trials.

Labs & Teams: Leads a translational research group at the Wellcome Trust Brenner Laboratory, collaborating with Drs. Milene Volpato, Louise Coletta, and external experts in gastroenterology and oncology.
