Mark Hoffmann

Mark Hoffmann is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Visual Communication and Design Division at Montserrat College of Art. With a career spanning the animation industry and children’s book/editorial illustration, he emphasizes artistic exploration and self-driven creativity in his teaching philosophy.

Education:

• BFA from Rhode Island School of Design
• MFA from University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth

His research and professional work focus on paint and color, with clients including Penguin/Random House, Abrams, and Cooking Light. Hoffmann’s expertise bridges traditional illustration techniques and modern applications in editorial and children’s media.
