Alina Chau is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Animation at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), within the School of Media : Culture : Design. She is an award-winning filmmaker and artist, recognized for her Emmy Award-winning work on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and her acclaimed children's book The Nian Monster, which received the 2018 APALA Picture Book Honor. Her whimsical illustration style is globally renowned, with exhibitions and collaborations with major clients like Disney, Scholastic, and Penguin Random House.
Education: MFA from UCLA.
Research interests include animation, children’s literature illustration, and fine arts, blending lyrical watercolor techniques with narrative storytelling. Her work bridges traditional art forms and modern media, influencing both entertainment and literary sectors.
