Mark Hibben is an Associate Professor in the Political Science/History Department at Saint Joseph’s College. He holds a PhD from Syracuse University, two MA degrees (Syracuse University and University of Birmingham, U.K.), and a BS from the University of Maine. His research focuses on globalization, international political economy, human rights, and poverty/inequality, particularly analyzing IMF and World Bank policies in the post-Washington Consensus era and China’s influence on global development.

Recent work includes co-editing The Oxford Handbook of the International Monetary Fund (2024) and co-authoring What is Wrong with the IMF and How to Fix It (2018).
