Carmen M. Reinhart is the Minos A. Zombanakis Professor of the International Financial System at Harvard Kennedy School. She previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Economist at the World Bank (2020–2022) and held roles at the IMF, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and Congressional Budget Office. Her research focuses on financial crises, sovereign debt, and macroeconomic policy. Her seminal work This Time is Different (with Kenneth Rogoff) analyzes 800 years of financial crises, winning the Paul A. Samuelson Award. She is a Group of Thirty member and senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations.
