Mark Fortier is a Professor at the School of Theatre, English, and Creative Writing within the College of Arts at the University of Guelph. His research focuses on early modern literature, law and literature, and Shakespeare studies. He holds degrees from the University of Windsor (B.A.), University of Toronto (M.A. and LL.B.), and York University (Ph.D.).
Fortier's work examines intersections between law, literature, and culture, with notable publications like Shakespeare's Law (2024) and Literature and Law (2019). He has received a SSHRC Standard Research Grant and contributed to foundational texts in theatre theory.
